UK Statutory Redundancy Pay — 2025/26 rates

Maximum 20 years counted

Age determines the weekly pay multiplier per year

Select a country, enter monthly salary and years of service to calculate. Age is also required for UK.

Statutory minimums are shown where applicable. Where no statutory minimum exists (US, Germany, Singapore), figures reflect common employer practice and will vary. Employee contracts may provide enhanced entitlements. Always verify against the employee's contract and applicable local legislation before confirming any figures.

How the Calculation Works

Each country has its own formula. Statutory jurisdictions base the calculation on years of service, salary, and in some cases age — for example the UK uses an age-banded multiplier, while the UAE applies 21 days per year for the first 5 years and 30 days per year beyond that. Where no statutory minimum applies (US, Germany, Singapore), the figure shown is based on common employer practice and will vary by employer, industry, and contract.

Tax Treatment

Tax treatment of redundancy pay varies by country. In the UK, statutory redundancy pay is tax-free up to £30,000. In the UAE and Pakistan, end-of-service gratuity is generally not subject to income tax. In India, gratuity is tax-exempt up to ₹20,00,000. Always speak to your payroll team or take local tax advice if the payment is significant or if total termination payments may exceed tax-free thresholds.
