💰 Salary ↔ Hourly Converter
Convert annual salary to hourly rate, or hourly rate to annual salary. Most people search this when comparing job offers, negotiating freelance rates, or trying to work out what their time is actually worth. Pick your currency, set your hours per week, and see hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, and annual all at once.
Use 48 if you take 4 weeks unpaid leave
How the Conversion Works
Annual salary divided by total working hours gives you the hourly rate. Total working hours equals hours per week multiplied by weeks per year. A standard full-time year is 40 hours per week multiplied by 52 weeks, which equals 2,080 hours. If you take 4 weeks of unpaid leave, drop weeks per year to 48 and your effective hourly rate goes up.
What the Numbers Don't Include
These are gross figures, before tax, social security, pension, or any other deductions. Your real take-home pay will be lower and depends on your country, tax bracket, and contributions. For freelancers and contractors, the hourly rate should also factor in unpaid time off, sick days, equipment costs, accounting fees, and the absence of employer-paid benefits — typically a freelancer needs to charge 1.5 to 2 times what an employee earns hourly to net the same amount.
